Job summary

Gursey | Schneider LLP in Los Angeles seeks a Senior Associate to join Client Accounting Services (CAS). You will coordinate accounting functions, prepare financial work papers, and manage reconciliations for client portfolios.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, excellent communication, and proficiency with Excel and common cloud tools. Public accounting exposure is a plus and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• 2–5 years of accounting, AP or bookkeeping experience.
• Experience with GAAP and OCBOA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate accounting functions and programs for CAS.
• Prepare financial work papers and reports.
• Monitor, maintain, and reconcile financial accounts and AP.
• Reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare annual compliance reports (1099s, City Tax).
• Prepare financial statements: Balance Sheet, Income Statement, GL, TB.
• Coordinate documents for annual tax prep and quarterly extensions.
• Investigate discrepancies and escalate with management and clients.

Job Title: Senior Associate, CAS

Department: Client Accounting Services (CAS)

Successful candidates should have the following:

• 2-5 years of accounting, accounts payable, and/or bookkeeping experience.
• Ability to track and understand partnership investments.
• Ability to understand and accurately record brokerage transactions.
• Strong understanding of balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and financial analysis skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members as needed.
• Experience with QuickBooks, Bill.com, Xero, and Gusto is a plus.
• Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/ OCBOA) and annual tax compliance is a plus.
• The ability to train and manage staff is a plus.
• Public Accounting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate accounting functions and programs.
• Prepare financial work papers and reports.
• Assist with monitoring, maintaining, and reconciling financial accounts and Accounts Payable.
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts as required.
• Prepare annual compliance reports: 1099s, City Tax, etc.
• Prepare financial statements, including a Balance Sheet, Income Statement, General Ledger, Trial Balance, and other Ad Hoc reports.
• Coordinate financial statement preparation and supporting documents for annual tax preparation and quarterly extension payments.
• Investigate and resolve account discrepancies and non-compliance issues by communicating with all levels of management, clients, and third parties.
• Contribute to developing new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
• Perform other accounting research, accounting duties, and supporting staff as required or assigned additional training staff

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (majors in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline).

$75,000 - $95,000 a year

The annual salary target for this job in this market is $75,000 - $95,000. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the market demand, education, experience, and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
