Job summary

CohnReznick is seeking a Senior Associate for Minnesota to oversee accounting and payroll services for clients. The role emphasizes delivering accurate financials, guidance on payroll processes, and ensuring compliance while adapting to evolving client needs in a remote setting.

The successful candidate will bring a strong accounting background, experience with payroll, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's in Tax is a plus, or 3+ years of accounting/payroll experience.
  • Experience includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, GL, and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of payroll regulatory requirements and W-2/1099 processing.
  • Knowledge of general ledger and year-end adjustments.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery of accounting and payroll solutions to clients.
  • Work on payroll and accounting services projects for clients.
  • Provide consultation to employees and clients.
  • Conduct accounting and payroll research to ensure compliance.
  • Learn and effectively use current accounting software applications.

We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Associate to join our Minnesota practice!

CohnReznick is a hybrid firm and most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered remote which means it does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a CohnReznick office location. However, as a remote employee, you may be required to be present at a CohnReznick office with scheduled notice for client work, team meetings, or trainings.

YOUR TEAM.

This position is responsible for overseeing the delivery of accounting and payroll related solutions to clients. The range of responsibilities include, but not limited to, working with projects in payroll and accounting services department, providing consultation to employees and clients, and conducting accounting and payroll research and ensuring compliance. A person in this role will continue to learn, understand, and effectively use current accounting and payroll software applications when completing assignments. The person in this role is also expected to work efficiently and adapt to changes in schedules and work hours. This position will regularly exercise independent judgment and discretion about accounting matters of significance.

YOUR ROLE.
Responsibilities include but not limited to.
  • Processes client payroll, general ledger, bank reconciliations, financial statements,
  • Implements best practices, accounting, and client service
  • Understands and effectively uses current payroll and accounting software applications in completion of
  • Reviews the work of staff accountants and seasonal accountants
  • Provides training to entry level staff accountants and seasonal accountants
  • Ensures all client deliverable (financials, reports, tax filings,) are completed in an accurate, professional, and timely manner.
  • Researches answers and solutions independently and with supervision to provide information and organize content for internal and external clients.
  • Uses online and desk-top QuickBooks software to track/manage expenses and keeps track of daily transactions (invoice customers, pay bills, generate reports, review financial statements for compliance, missing data, or duplication and more) for our clients.
YOUR EXPERIENCE.
The successful candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's in Tax is a plus, or 3 or more years of accounting and payroll
  • Accounting experience includes but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory requirements of processing payroll accounting transactions and payroll returns. Generates W-2's and 1099’s for clients.
  • Knowledge of general ledger and year-end adjustments for cash and accrual basis
  • Strong technical, analytical, and organizational
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients

In Minnesota, the salary range for Tax Senior Associates is $70,000 - $105,000. Salary determination will vary based on factors such as a candidate’s geographical location, qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies. Salary is one component of the CohnReznick total rewards package, which includes a discretionary performance bonus; generous paid time off; expanded and inclusive parental benefits, and access to best-in-class learning and development platforms, to name a few.
