Job summary

The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners, through its County Attorney’s Office, seeks a Senior Assistant County Attorney – Civil Litigation. This at-will position requires senior-level civil litigators with jury trial experience to represent the County in diverse matters and provide strategic advisory services to County departments and officials.

Location is West Palm Beach; hours are 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday to Friday, with potential emergency duties.

Qualifications

• Active membership in good standing with The Florida Bar (required).
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Experience handling civil litigation matters with jury trials.

Responsibilities

• Represent Palm Beach County in a broad range of civil litigation matters, including complex litigation.
• Provide legal advice and strategic litigation counsel to County departments and elected officials.
• Mentor junior attorneys and supervise case management as appropriate.

Hours: 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday – Friday, may be required to work during emergencies

The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners, through its County Attorney’s Office, is accepting applications for the position of Senior Assistant County Attorney – Civil Litigation. This position is open to qualified senior-level civil litigators with jury trial experience.

The selected attorney will represent Palm Beach County in a broad range of civil litigation matters, including complex litigation, and provide legal advice and strategic litigation counsel to County departments and elected officials.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience Levels Considered

• 10+ years of civil litigation with jury trials and substantial case-management responsibility
• Experience independently managing complex litigation matters
• Ability to provide strategic guidance and mentor junior attorneys as appropriate

Preference Given To

• Civil litigation involving governmental entities or practice in local government, complex, or commercial litigation.
• Strong legal research, writing, advocacy, and oral presentation skills.
