Job summary

Nielsen Associates is seeking a senior accounting leader in a growing manufacturing environment. You will oversee AP, AR and GL operations, mentor staff, and drive accurate monthly and year-end closes, while strengthening internal controls and GAAP compliance.

You will collaborate across functions, prepare financial statements, and spearhead process improvements, including automation projects. A CPA path or progress is valued as the team expands toward controller-level leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• ERP system experience preferred.
• Process-improvement mindset and professional growth mindset.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations across AP, AR and the General Ledger.
• Lead, mentor and develop members of the accounting team.
• Take ownership of month-end and year-end close.
• Ensure financial transactions and reporting are accurate, complete and timely.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Analyze financial performance and investigate variances.
• Maintain strong accounting controls and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Assist with external audits, tax requirements and regulatory reporting.
• Identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes.
• Work cross-functionally throughout the organization.
• Lead special initiatives, including accounting automation projects.
