Job summary

New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) seeks an Asset Manager within the Asset Management Unit to supervise compliance across a mixed portfolio of affordable housing projects. You will conduct on-site inspections and coordinate with Owners and property managers to ensure adherence to LIHTC, HOME, and other programs.

The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, familiarity with HUD/LIHTC rules, and a willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, computer & communication (oral & written) skills are essential.
• Proficiency with HUD 4350 requirements and LIHTC program compliance preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in real estate finance, accounting, or business administration is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site LIHTC/HOME/Housing Trust Fund/Turnkey/SLIHC/HUD 236/Mitchell Lama/HCR compliance audits and inspections.
• Interact with Owners and property managers regarding operation and management; perform site inspections.
• Enforce regulatory requirements on financial reporting, use restrictions, and low-income unit set-asides.
