Job Summary

We are seeking Test Technicians to join our test operations team. This posting is open to candidates at Level I (entry‑level) or Level II (experienced) based on qualifications. You will support environmental and functional testing of aerospace hardware including thermal vacuum (TVAC), vibration, EMI, and pressure testing. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career in space propulsion testing while working on flight hardware that will operate in orbit and beyond.

Level I candidates will work under direct supervision while developing foundational test skills and working toward certifications. Level II candidates will perform test operations with reduced supervision and execute standard procedures independently. Both levels offer clear paths for advancement within ExoTerra's test organization.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Set up and operate test equipment for environmental and functional testing (Level II performs independently; Level I assists and learns under supervision).
  • Support thermal vacuum, vibration, EMI, and pressure testing operations on aerospace hardware.
  • Operate test equipment including multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, and data acquisition systems.
  • Prepare hardware for testing, including assembly, integration, and configuration.
  • Monitor test parameters and collect data during test execution.
  • Read and interpret test procedures, specifications, and engineering drawings.
  • Document test results and maintain accurate test records with full traceability.
  • Assist with troubleshooting test anomalies (Level II with reduced guidance; Level I under close supervision).
  • Complete required training programs including ESD, cleanroom, FOD, and safety certifications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area following ESD and cleanroom protocols.
Required Qualifications

All Candidates:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to learn and follow detailed test procedures.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of electrical or mechanical systems.
Level I (Entry‑Level)
  • 0-2 years of manufacturing, test, or related hands‑on experience.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and receive constructive feedback.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new skills quickly.
Level II (Experienced)
  • 2-5 years of hands‑on experience in aerospace or related test/manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with test equipment (multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, data acquisition systems).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with reduced supervision.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with vacuum systems, thermal chambers, or vibration equipment.
  • IPC-610/620 or J‑STD certifications.
  • Experience with data acquisition systems and test automation.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 quality systems.
  • Technical training or coursework in electronics, electrical systems, or related field.
  • Previous aerospace or defense industry experience.
  • Associate degree in a technical field.
  • Recent graduates from technical programs or military veterans with relevant training encouraged to apply.
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred.
Level Placement

Candidates will be placed at Level I or Level II based on experience, qualifications, and interview performance. Level I technicians work under direct supervision and focus on training and certification. Level II technicians perform test operations with reduced supervision and can execute standard procedures independently. Both levels have clear advancement paths within ExoTerra.

Export Control / Compliance Requirements

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Compensation & Benefits

Level I: $22 - $28/hour

Level II: $25 - $35/hour
