Job summary

Saab, Inc. in Cranston, RI is seeking Senior Assemblers to support the growth of our Autonomous Undersea Vehicles manufacturing. You will assemble parts, read engineering drawings, and wire components within a connected manufacturing environment.

The role requires 3+ years of mechanical assembly experience, proficiency with hand and power tools, soldering, and basic computer skills. A strong team mindset and the ability to stand for long periods are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of qualified mechanical assembly manufacturing experience.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications in both written and digital formats.
• Ability to execute appropriate working methods and select correct tools to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Ability to follow standardized procedures for high repeatability in an advanced, connected manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as sitting, bending, stooping, walking, climbing, and reaching throughout a normal workday.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions (such as lifting or assembly of parts), including the use of handheld power tools.

Responsibilities

• Assembling parts and/or units, positioning, aligning, and fastening components to assemblies, subassemblies, or frames using various hand and power tools.

• Connecting cables, rods, and wiring according to standard manufacturing methods and procedures.
• Possessing working knowledge of basic hand tools, including torque wrenches, crimpers, etc.
• Soldering using intermediate techniques.
• Demonstrating intermediate computer skills, including the ability to use scroll bars, a mouse, and dialog boxes to navigate within the operating system.
• Using specific computer databases, including Oracle, to manage information, input data, retrieve records, and communicate information.
• Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents and possesses the ability to read and interpret drawings and wire lists.

Senior Assembler Saab, Inc. is growing! We are expanding our workforce at our Cranston, RI manufacturing facility, where we are building the next generation of Autonomous Undersea Vehicles (AUVs). We are seeking Senior Assemblers to join our Manufacturing and Production team.

Responsibilities include:

Compensation Range:

$25.82 - $31.01 The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
