Job summary

Cognizant in Monroe Township, NJ is seeking a Senior AS/400 Developer (RPG, CLP, DB2) for a hybrid day shift. You will lead enterprise solutions on iSeries, mentor teams, and ensure performance across global operations.

The role requires 8+ years hands-on programming on RPG/AS400, SQL, CLP/ILE, and experience with DB2, DDS, and development tools such as iSeries Navigator and IBM Rational Developer for Power Systems.

Qualifications

In this role, you will:

This hybrid day shift role seeks a seasoned technical lead with seven to ten years of experience in CLP DB2 400 and AS400 COBOL to guide complex enterprise solutions. The role focuses on stable delivery mentoring technical teams and enhancing merchandising systems while ensuring robust performance and reliability for global business operations.

What you need to have to be considered:

• 8+ years of hands on programming experience on the iSeries using fixed and free format RPG RPG with imbedded SQL IBM Control Language Programming CLP ILE and DDS
• 8+ years of hands on experience with Relational Database Management System specifically AS400DB2 Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle a plus
• Candidate should have a deep understanding on the theory and workings of Relational Database systems
• Advanced knowledge of the SQL query language including query tuning and performance optimization
• Experience in the development of stored procedures triggers and userdefined functions
• Knowledge of logistics or fulfillment processes and techniques warehouse management system software
• Experience using iSeries Navigator and IBM Rational Developer for Power Systems Software as development debugging tools
• Experience in ObjectOriented Programming Design concepts and methodologies
