Job summary

Ember and Crown in Seattle is seeking an experienced architecture leader to run a small studio, owning design deliverables from concept through construction administration. You’ll lead multiple projects, coordinate engineers and consultants, and navigate land use and permit requirements while keeping sight of why the project matters.

Expect 45+ hours weekly, site visits on the West Coast about twice a month, and a compensation package ranging from $120,000 to $150,000+ per year with medical

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial or architectural design experience.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe CS and SketchUp with strong 3D visualization.
• Sketching ability for concepts, elevations and perspectives.
• Working knowledge of drawing standards, building codes, ADA and permitting.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture or related field.

Responsibilities

• Carry a project from early sketch through construction documents to field.
• Lead a small studio team with real ownership.
• Flag risk early to prevent crises.
• Keep project engineers and sub-consultants aligned.
• Navigate land use and permit approvals to avoid delays.
• Travel to sites to ensure built work matches drawings.
