Akamai Technologies, Inc. seeks a Senior Architect - Cloud Compute to lead architecture and design for our Compute SDLC. You will collaborate with global engineering teams to build reliable, scalable software delivery processes and define long-term platform strategies.

In this role, you will lead the architecture and design for our Compute SDLC. You will collaborate with engineering teams to build reliable, scalable software delivery processes. You will also define long-term platform strategies and drive automation across our cloud infrastructure.
As a Senior Architect - Cloud Compute, you will be responsible for:
Creating and refining system-wide SDLC processes to enhance platform scalability, reliability, and deployment visibility across engineering teams
Coordinating the design of critical integration points to enable comprehensive views of software versioning and global deployment operations
Providing technical guidance on design patterns while aligning stakeholders on long-term platform strategies and software architecture
Architecting solutions for shared SDLC workflows and conducting system reviews across Compute and related cloud infrastructure
Evaluating and developing frameworks to perform due diligence on the SDLC maturity and infrastructure of potential acquisition targets
Identifying tools and defining metrics to ensure products meet monitoring, patching, and regulatory compliance standards
To be successful in this role you will:
Have 12 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent
Have experience leading the architectural design of SDLC processes, CI/CD pipelines, and software-defined automation
Be familiar with Kubernetes, cloud-native container ecosystems, hypervisors, and associated supporting infrastructure technologies
Possess solid communication skills to bridge technical gaps across global teams and drive stakeholder consensus
Demonstrate experience coordinating large-scale software patching, deployment operations, and system compliance standards
Have an understanding of evaluation frameworks used for assessing SDLC maturity and integrating platform infrastructure

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $169,300 - $304,700/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
