Akamai seeks a Senior Architect to shape IAM platform architecture, collaborate with management, engineers, product management, QE and SRE, and steer architectural direction across cloud-based assets. You will focus on scalable, reliable designs rather than hands-on coding.

Required are deep experience in cloud-native architectures, a strong system design background, and a track record of delivering in globally distributed, highly available environments.

Qualifications

• 12 years of relevant experience and a CS-related degree or equivalent.
• Demonstrate big-picture approach to complex software architectures.
• Experience with cloud native architectures and products.
• Experience with the software development life cycle using modern tools.
• Proven success in highly-available systems with global reach.

The Akamai Platform IAM team is part of Akamai's Cloud Technology Group. We design and operate platforms enabling customers to control cloud assets. This team owns IAM toolsets for Cloud Manager website and APIs, and we ensure customers configure users for quality, safety, and performance.

You will join a global team delivering high-quality IAM architecture designs, working with management, engineers, product management, QE, and SRE. You will focus on technical direction and solid designs over hands-on development.

As a Senior Architect, you will be responsible for:

• Evaluating proposed software systems and solutions against technical requirements
• Working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operational success
• Developing and promoting common software and systems building blocks
• Guiding choices between internal building and using third-party technologies

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $169,300 - $304,700/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
