Stantec in Pasadena, CA is seeking an experienced Senior Archaeologist with 7+ years CRM field and project management experience in California to join our Environmental Services Cultural Resources Team. This full-time role offers opportunities to manage projects, oversee field teams, coordinate with clients and agencies, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

Master’s degree or higher in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related field.
7+ years of CRM field experience in California.
Experience with major utility clients and workflows is strongly preferred.
Registered Professional Archaeologist is preferred but not required.
Experience coordinating with clients, agencies, and tribal representatives.

Responsibilities

Serve as a Project Manager and/or PI for cultural resource investigations.
Task manage pedestrian surveys, testing, data recovery, and monitoring.
Develop research designs, work plans, and field methodologies.
Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies, tribal representatives, and clients.
Mentor and supervise junior archaeologists in field methods and reporting.
Oversee artifact analysis, laboratory processing, and curation as needed.
Prepare and review DPR 523 forms, site forms, and regulatory documents.
Develop budgets, schedules, and scopes of work for projects.
Ensure CEQA, NHPA (Section 106), ARPA, and NAGPRA compliance.
Lead quality control reviews of field documentation and reporting.
