Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking a Senior Esri Enterprise Systems Architect/Administrator in Phoenix, AZ to lead ArcGIS Enterprise architecture, lifecycle management, and data governance for a large organization.

You will design and implement data lifecycle strategies, optimize PostgreSQL/SQL Server geodatabases, and mentor the Geospatial Platform Services team while coordinating with security and IT governance stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 8+ years with ArcGIS Enterprise administration and migrations.
• Deep hands-on administration of Server/Portal/Notebook/Monitor/Data Store.
• Strong PostgreSQL and SQL Server enterprise geodatabase management.
• Experience with Azure cloud migrations and backup/DR practices.
• Solid scripting in Python/ArcPy for automation and governance.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and long-term roadmap for ArcGIS Enterprise environment.
• Design data lifecycle and archival strategies for Portal data.
• Manage geodatabase performance and storage tuning at scale.
• Establish data governance standards and validation processes.
• Lead backup/DR strategy and validate recovery through migrations.
• Coordinate OS patching and security configurations with vendors.
• Mentor geospatial admins and develop runbooks and standards.
• Evaluate monitoring tools and correlate content growth with server health.
• Drive continuous improvements across geospatial infrastructure and workflows.
• Serve as escalation lead for complex production issues.
