Job summary

Amazon Stores Security in Seattle seeks a SecEng III, AppSec to collaborate with software teams to keep customers safe while developing novel services. You will inspect code for security issues, build frameworks to help developers move faster securely, and refine designs for new services.

The ideal candidate blends technical depth with leadership by influence and strong communication to articulate risks to both technical and non-technical audiences while harmonizing opinions and prioritizing

Qualifications

• 5+ years of work identifying security issues and developing mitigation plans.
• 4+ years troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating tasks using command line tools.
• 4+ years of scripting, programming, and security code review in common languages.
• Knowledge of at least two of: Scala, Java, Python, C/C++, or Go.
• 4+ years of experience in security vulnerabilities identification, attack patterns, and remediation techniques.
• 4+ years in areas like app security frameworks, IAM, incident response, cloud security, AI security, threat intelligence, and penetration testing.

Responsibilities

• Creating, updating, and maintaining threat models for a wide variety of software projects.
• Manual and Automated Secure Code Review, primarily in Java, Python and JavaScript.
• Development of security automation tools.
• Adversarial security analysis using innovative tools to augment manual effort.
• Security training and outreach for internal development teams.
• Security architecture and design guidance.
• Independently solve security problems that require novel methods or approaches.
• Influence your team’s and partners’ process, priorities, and choices to improve outcomes.
