Job summary

Oceaneering International Inc. is seeking an Application Security Architect to build and operationalize our enterprise AppSec program. The role embeds security into the software development lifecycle, CI/CD pipelines, and developer ecosystem.

You will lead secure coding, threat modeling, and vulnerability management while advancing DevSecOps across teams. The position supports a hybrid work model with occasional Houston office presence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, cybersecurity, CS, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years supporting security monitoring, SIEM, or security engineering platforms.
• Minimum 1 year administering Splunk Enterprise.
• Minimum 1 year supporting Cribl or similar log management technologies.
• Minimum 1 year with Syslog architecture and log ingestion technologies.
• Minimum 1 year supporting MDR services or Security Operations Centers.
• Minimum 1 year working with Windows, Linux, network, and cloud log sources.
• Familiarity with OT and ICS environments.
• Splunk Certified Administrator/Architect and OT/ICS experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Define and govern application security requirements, controls, and assurance activities embedded within the SDLC.
• Partner with SCOE to ensure security is integrated without duplicating ownership of platforms or standards.
• Lead DevSecOps practices to reduce software supply chain risk and enforce secure development standards aligned to Zero Trust.
• Establish and lead an enterprise AppSec governance framework including Secure SDLC and vulnerability management policies.
• Drive adoption of secure coding standards, security testing, and remediation SLAs across teams.
• Architect and implement a secure CI/CD pipeline with embedded SAST, DAST, SCA, secrets scanning, and provenance validation.
• Build a risk-based AppSec roadmap aligned to crown jewel applications and regulatory requirements.
