Senior Applied Machine Learning Engineer

We’re working to make the insurance industry faster, fairer and cheaper for everyone. Evolution IQ is revolutionizing the industry by changing the way claims analytics are done. We develop a next‑gen platform that uses deep comprehension and vast data access to guide humans to optimal decisions over large numbers of claims. Our training data includes all parts of historical insurance claims, as well as data sourced externally. Our findings are presented in intuitive products that streamline the claim investigation process, potentially saving hundreds of millions, increasing fairness, and adding precision to insurance pricing.

Who are you?

A machine learning engineer focused on natural language processing, information extraction, graph models, and AI architectures who thrives in an ambiguous, high‑impact environment and is intrinsically motivated to figure problems out. You will be the technical owner of a new, complex machine learning project, working closely with Evolution’s ML product manager from opportunity mapping to production launch.

Responsibilities

• Work with the PM to map business requirements to a machine learning solution.
• Ingest and clean raw client data.
• Integrate models into Evolution’s machine learning platform.
• Build, tune, and evaluate models, creating custom evaluation strategies.
• Reproduce ML prototypes in a live production environment.
• Collaborate with the PM to design ML architectures for novel problems.
• Own applied ML projects from conception to shipping.
• Contribute to a team that ships production products.
• Write clean, efficient, and well‑tested code following functional design patterns.
• Expert in Python 3 and Pandas or equivalent data manipulation libraries.
• Data architect skilled at solving complex, multidimensional big data problems using databases, data assets, and DAG pipelines.
• Excellent documentation writing skills.
• Show extreme creativity, resourcefulness, and appetite for solving previously unsolved problems.
