Job summary

LPL Financial is seeking a Sr. Application Security Engineer to lead and mature our Application Security program. You will work across Web, Mobile, APIs, and databases to ensure secure development practices and robust defenses.

This role emphasizes mentorship, cross‑team collaboration, and measurable security outcomes. You will partner with Development, QA, and IT teams to evaluate risks, implement secure coding standards, and optimize security tooling and processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of application security experience.
• 5+ years of API and web application vulnerability testing.
• 5+ years building and maintaining enterprise security libraries, components, and checklists.
• 5+ years evaluating application security risk and enhancing CI/CD security posture.
• 5+ years creating and maintaining scan profiles for static, dynamic, IAST, and 3rd party library analysis.
• 5+ years reviewing vulnerability scans and tracking closures.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an application security SME for Web, Mobile, Databases, APIs, and Containers.
• Support and maintain application security testing platforms and integrate with automation.
• Collaborate with development teams to review false positives and mitigations.
• Produce and track application security metrics.
• Support secure development and testing of key LPL applications.
• Educate product engineers on secure development practices.
• Monitor CVEs and industry trends for continuous improvement.
