Job summary

JTL-Software-GmbH is seeking a senior security engineer to advance our Secure Software Development Lifecycle across architecture, CI/CD, and operations. You will integrate security into daily development through IDE plugins, SAST, security unit tests, and golden images.

Based in Germany, you will coach developers and product owners, drive measurable security improvements, and collaborate with teams to make security scalable while keeping English as the working language in a remote-first setup.

Qualifications

Degree in computer science or comparable field.
At least 5 years of experience in application security with a focus on secure development.
Solid knowledge of at least one programming language, plus scripting and automation.
Strong grasp of modern security standards such as OWASP ASVS or NIST.
Able to work independently, communicate complex security requirements clearly, and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

Evolve our Secure Software Development Lifecycle — from architecture through CI/CD to operations.
Bring security into everyday development: IDE plugins, SAST, security unit tests, and golden images.
Run threat modeling to surface risks and help teams handle them pragmatically.
Coach developers and product owners on security, as an equal partner.
Make security measurable, understandable, and scalable.
