Job summary

PTR Global is seeking a Senior Application Security Engineer to join the Cloud Security & Developer Enablement team in New York City or Alpharetta. The role focuses on architecting and deploying security controls across CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native apps, collaborating with development, DevOps, and security teams to enable secure software delivery.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in software security with Python, REST APIs, Linux, and CI/CD experience, plus hands-on work with Jenkins, GitHub

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience using Python.
• Experience working with APIs, including REST.
• Proficiency in unit testing frameworks and multi-process/multi-thread architecture.
• 5+ years of experience in Linux with strong bash scripting skills.
• Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
• Working knowledge of Windows environments and simple scripting (e.g., DOS batch).
• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of IT field experience.
• Ability to process large datasets for reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Implement organization-specific security policies in CI/CD security tools, including SAST, OSS, and SCA applications.
• Collaborate with Development, DevOps, and Security teams to develop automated security and compliance capabilities supporting DevSecOps processes.
• Define security rules for web and mobile applications written in .NET, Java, React, Python, and other languages.
• Provide a secure and stable platform for enforcing application security controls using development and security expertise.
• Support security standards and design, and implement architectural patterns to enhance the resiliency and scalability of the security platform.
• Work with partners to implement, manage, and optimize security measures within GitHub repositories to improve code integrity and protect against vulnerabilities.

Position: Application Security Engineer

Location: Alpharetta, GA or New York City, NY

Job Overview: The Application Security Engineer will be part of the Cloud Security & Developer Enablement team, which is responsible for implementing the organization's Cybersecurity Strategy. This role involves architecting, engineering, deploying, and operating technical security controls and capabilities for the enterprise. The focus is on architectural rigor, automation, agile delivery, and adoption of cloud and application security control implementations by the development community.

Responsibilities:

• Expertise in monitoring, alerting, reporting, and data analysis.
• Experience with application build environments like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and TeamCity.
• Familiarity with DevOps container/orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Puppet.
• Experience with security tools like DAST, RASP, WAF, vulnerability scanners, container analyzers, and open-source scanning.

Pay Range: $75.00- $78.00/hr.
