Job summary

Navira Federal is recruiting a Senior Application Security Engineer in Kansas City, MO for a hybrid role focused on secure delivery and vulnerability remediation. You will lead technical security assessments across applications, platforms, and cloud environments prior to production, guiding fixes and tracking remediation progress.

The ideal candidate holds a CISSP or equivalent certification, U.S. citizenship, a Bachelor’s degree, and documented federal security assessment experience with cloud

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience performing security assessments of federal apps, platforms, and environments.
• Cloud security experience since September 2024.
• On-site Monday–Friday with after-hours on-call rotation.

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Application Security Engineer, you will run technical security assessments and help ensure applications, platforms, and cloud environments are protected prior to production deployment.

• Conduct technical security assessments of applications, platforms, and cloud environments
• Perform static and dynamic testing (SAST and DAST) and support secure code reviews
• Validate security findings, guide developers on fixes, and track remediation progress
• Contribute to architecture reviews and security impact analyses
• Ensure custom code is scanned before it reaches production

What You Need

• A current CISSP, or a current industry-accepted application or cloud development certification
• U.S. citizenship
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Demonstrated technical security assessments of federal applications, platforms, and environments
• Cloud security experience since September 2024
• Ability to work on site Monday through Friday and support an after-hours on-call rotation

Nice to Have

• CSSLP, CASE, or a cloud security certification
• Hands-on experience with SAST and DAST tools
• Experience coaching developers on secure coding

Tools and Skills

You’ll work with SAST and DAST testing approaches, aligned to strong security practices, and your expertise may be supported by credentials such as CISSP.

Compensation: USD 125,000 - 139,800 per year
