Job summary

Kennametal Stellite Inc. is seeking a Senior Application Engineer to support the team with technical tooling and product applications. You will carry customer accounts, mentor less experienced staff, and step in as interim leader when needed.

This role requires mature experience in the metal cutting industry, strong product knowledge, and the ability to train others while maintaining high customer relationships and delivering value-added services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5–7+ years field or manufacturing experience in metal cutting.
• Experience with OEM machine tool builders preferred.
• Extensive experience in a technical manufacturing environment.
• Proficient at identifying and assessing customer needs.
• Able to understand and communicate complex contract conditions.
• Independent worker with minimal supervision.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, sales, etc) for project management.
• Understand customers' business, technology, and product requirements and appropriately match Kennametal tooling solutions, products and services to meet customer needs.
• Exceed customer expectations relative to Kennametal service levels and technical know-how and value-added services.
• Perform sales forecasting, account planning and other administrative tasks that will profitably grow the business.
• Understand and utilize company resources.
• Maintain high impact customer relationships with current accounts to expand market share.
