Job summary

Parallax Advanced Research in Beavercreek, OH, is seeking a Senior Application Engineer to join our on-site team. You will architect and implement enterprise-grade applications, write secure, scalable code, and integrate security and compliance into deployments.

You will mentor developers, collaborate with stakeholders, and push the boundaries of AI/ML and data processing in national-security oriented projects.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance and US citizenship required.
• 10+ years in software development with focus on secure delivery.

• 5+ years in software development and building scalable applications.
• Cloud: AWS with emphasis on secure deployments and compliance.

The Senior Application Engineer will work with a team of varying sizes to ensure creation of software programs utilizing varying techniques, tools, and computer languages depending on the current directed needs of the customer. The Senior Software Engineer will oversee updates to software and conduct quality control functions. Responsibilities (detailed below) include mentoring and supervision of developers; collaborating with management, departments, and customers to identify end-user requirements and specifications; testing and deploying programs and applications, troubleshooting, debugging, maintaining and improving existing software; compiling and assessing user feedback to improve software performance; observing user feedback to recommend improvements to current software products and developing technical documentation to guide future software development projects

In This Role, You Will:

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI Clearance and US Citizenship are required
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field with experience (10+ years) in software development
• Expertise in one or more of the following Programming Languages: Python, Java, C++, Go, Rust, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, NoSQL, Pytorch
• 5+ years in software development
• Cloud Platforms: AWS with emphasis on secure deployments and compliance
• Proven track record of embedding security in software development
• Demonstrated ability to execute projects in a rapid development environment
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, extrapolate requirements to build software applications that can support multiple product variations.
• Experience building scalable applications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-team collaboration

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

• B S or MS in Computer Science or related technical field
• Strong knowledge of application design patterns
• Experience in building production software applications in a regulatory DOD compliance environment.
• Experience with version control, continuous integration, and continuous delivery concepts
