Job summary

LPL Financial is seeking a Principal Security Architect to lead API security and cloud/ data security design. You will work with Development, Operations, and Enterprise Architecture to secure environments, build security patterns, and implement zero-trust controls.

This role requires strong collaboration and leadership across business units. The position emphasizes threat modeling, risk assessment, SIEM, incident response, and secure DevOps practices in complex enterprise settings.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of security architecture and API security experience.
• 8+ years of information security controls, guidelines, and standards (ISO27000, OWASP, CSA CCM, CIS 20, SOX, NIST).

Responsibilities

• Secure APIs with robust access controls, OAuth, JWT and API gateway security.
• Develop reusable security design patterns across tech stacks and domains.
• Craft clear security standards aligned with best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Lead design and innovation of security architectures, balancing protection and business agility.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align security initiatives with business goals.
• Apply expertise in security frameworks, cloud security, identity management, encryption, and zero-trust with DevOps.
