Job summary

Acuren Inspection, Inc. is seeking a Senior API Inspector/Project Lead to support operations in Birmingham, AL and surrounding areas. This is a travel-intensive position, with up to 90% travel across the region, including petrochemical and energy facilities.

Successful candidates will lead inspections, prepare technical reports, and provide recommendations for repairs or alterations while adhering to API 510/570 and ASME standards. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are available.

Qualifications

  • API Certifications: API 510/570.
  • 5–10 years’ experience or 2+ years on site.
  • API 653 or CWI a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of API 510/570 and ASME standards.
  • Experience supporting petrochemical facility engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and non-destructive examination of pressure retaining equipment per API/ASME standards.
  • Submit technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition.
  • Provide technical recommendations for repair, re-rate, replacement, or alteration for safe operation.
  • Provide technical input to welding and metallurgical issues.
  • Provide guidance on the application of NDE techniques and procedures.
  • Comply with all safety practices and participate in site safety initiatives.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Position Summary

Acuren is currently recruiting for Senior API Inspector/Project Lead to support operations in Birmingham AL and surrounding areas.THIS WILL BE A CALLOUT/TRAVEL POSITION.

Successful candidates must be able to travel up to 90% throughout Augusta GAand surrounding areas. (The environments will be Corn/Agricultural, Petro-Chem, Chemical, Pulp & Paper, Gas Plants, Refineries, Pipelines and Pharmaceuticals.)

Responsibilities
  • At the direction of client, perform visual and non-destructive examination of static and dynamic pressure retaining equipment in accordance with American Petroleum Institute (API) standards and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
  • Submit to client technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition
  • Provide client with technical recommendations for the repair, re-rate, replacement, and/or alteration of plant equipment, as required for safe operation within stated operating parameters for durations specified by client
  • Provide technical input to client as required for welding and metallurgical issues
  • Provide technical guidance, on a application of non-destructive examination techniques and procedures
  • Fully comply with all Acuren and client safe work practices and actively participate in all site safety initiatives
  • Willingness to travel if needed
Requirements
  • Certification of American Petroleum Institute Standards 510/570
  • 5 – 10 years’ experience or 2+ years on site experience
  • Additional API 653 or CWI a plus

  • Experience working in direct support of petrochemical facility engineers
