Job summary

Riot Games in Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Anti-Cheat Engineer to advance Vanguard Anti-Cheat client services. You will work across user-mode, kernel-mode, and obfuscation tooling, primarily in C/C++ and x86/x64 assembly, to build new defenses and improve existing systems.

You will reverse engineer cheats, diagnose complex Windows stack issues, and translate findings into concrete detections and mitigations, collaborating with game teams to protect player experiences.

Qualifications

• Proficient in C/C++ and x86/x64 assembly.
• Experience building and debugging low-level, security-sensitive systems.
• Strong understanding of Windows process internals, including processes, threads, memory and DLL loading.
• Hands-on reverse engineering of packed or obfuscated binaries.
• Practical understanding of Windows kernel and driver models.

Responsibilities

• Identify and drive high-impact anti-cheat features across user-mode, kernel-mode, and obfuscation tooling surfaces.
• Turn emerging threats into resilient detections and preventative countermeasures at scale.
• Design capabilities that anticipate cheaters' moves and eliminate abuse vectors.
• Reverse engineer evasive cheats and OS manipulation techniques.
• Investigate and resolve complex compatibility issues in opaque environments.
• Support game teams in understanding cheating ecosystems and integrating Anti-Cheat.
