Job summary

RTX is recruiting for an Airborne Antenna Design Engineer in McKinney, TX. You will design, develop, and deploy RF passive circuits and EM modeling while following established procedures and partnering with program leadership to ensure design objectives are met.

You will bring 5+ years of STEM experience in passive circuit design or EM modeling, familiarity with RF test equipment, and strong problem-solving and communication skills. Travel may be required and a U.S. DoD clearance is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with structured design processes and on-time task execution.
• Experience with test equipment such as Antenna Ranges, VNAs, Spectrum Analyzers, or Power Meters.

About the Role

The Airborne Antenna Design department headquartered in McKinney, Texas is responsible for full-scope Independent Design, Verification & Validation (IV&V) solutions for antenna products, including architecture trades, design, development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of antenna systems and associated integrated system verification solutions.

What You Will Do

• Responsible for the design, development, and deployment of Radio Frequency (RF) passive circuits (radiators, RF manifolds, RF transitions, etc.) and electromagnetic (EM) modeling.
• Implement best practice standards with regard to the planning, coordination, and execution of RF passive circuit design and EM modeling with sound engineering process discipline and leadership.
• Follow established procedures and instructions while working closely with program and functional leadership to ensure that overall design objectives are met.
• Responsible for developing technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems.
• Travel may be periodically required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in passive circuit design and/or EM modeling.
• Experience performing structured design processes, root-cause problem solving, and successful on-time/on-schedule task execution.
• Experience with test equipment including Antenna Ranges, Vector Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, and/or Power Meters.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS, Matlab, and AutoCAD.
• Capable of providing input or guidance to lower-level engineers.
• Ability to manage conflicting or non-existent requirements in a rapidly changing environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Security Clearance

• U.S. citizenship required for a security clearance; ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required.
• Existing active security clearance required after day 1.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD.
