Job summary

Reddit is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Test to join its Quality Engineering team. The role focuses on elevating mobile quality across features by designing and evolving test automation frameworks, tools, and services for Android apps.

You will analyze production issues, close test gaps, and ensure test infrastructure stability while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve CI/CD quality checks. Strong Android/Kotlin testing experience is required; Jetpack Compose is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years as an SDET or Software Engineer for Android
• Minimum 3+ years in Android development
• Experience designing and building scalable automated test frameworks and services for mobile apps
• Experience writing, executing, and monitoring automated test suites using Espresso and/or UIAutomator in Kotlin
• Preference for Jetpack Compose experience
• Experience in unit, snapshot, and end-to-end testing of Android apps
• Experience building test frameworks for native mobile apps
• Strong understanding of CI/CD and quality checks in the workflow
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies for mobile releases and fluent English communication

Responsibilities

• Help build an engineering culture that prioritizes quality across Reddit
• Develop and evolve test automation frameworks, tools, and services
• Analyze production issues, identify test gaps, and implement systemic improvements
• Maintain test infrastructure stability in non-production environments
• Troubleshoot and triage issues with teams to drive root-cause resolution
• Influence unit/integration/end-to-end testing across the org
