Speechify, a fully distributed tech company, is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to own features of the Android core product for users in New York and beyond. You will collaborate with design and product to deliver high-quality experiences and shape the Android roadmap.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of software engineering, deep Kotlin expertise, and hands-on experience with MVVM, Dagger 2, Jetpack Navigation, Compose, and testing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Familiarity with Android components.
• Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
• Strong testing mindset and approach to writing tests.

Responsibilities

• Own major features and deliver high quality Android app features.
• Shape the future of the Android team.
• Maintain and improve reliability metrics for key features.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams.
• Review pull requests and support teammates.
• Handle critical issues and unexpected challenges.
• Own feature releases and produce nightly builds for QA.
