Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to own major features in the Android core product and help shape the direction of the team in Naperville, IL. You will deliver high-quality user experiences and influence product decisions in a fast-paced, distributed environment.

You will collaborate with design, product, and engineering partners, review pull requests, tackle critical issues, and own feature releases with nightly builds for QA.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Familiarity with Android components.
• Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
• Product design intuition and user empathy.
• Drive to push the boundaries of Android UI/UX.
• Understanding of the importance of tests and how to approach writing tests.
• Self-drive to improve the app and codebase beyond what's outlined in the spec.
• Kotlin, Coroutines, and Flow expertise.
• Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, and Jetpack Navigation familiarity.
• JUnit tests experience.
