Job summary

Fanatics is seeking an Android Staff Engineer to lead the mobile team on the Fanatics app, delivering scalable, high-quality Android experiences. You will own architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate closely with product and design to align with business goals.

You will drive end-to-end development, champion best practices, and contribute to a culture of technical excellence. Occasional travel to offices and events may be required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building highly scalable Android applications with MVI Architecture.
• Expert-level proficiency in Kotlin and mentoring others in its effective use.
• Android domain expertise with knowledge of best practices and end-user considerations.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose and DI/ServiceLocator patterns.
• Strong communication and collaboration across diverse audiences and teams.
• Proven Agile/SCRUM delivery and drive for process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Drive development, testing, documentation, and deployment of scalable software into production.
• Shape team strategy by understanding product roadmap and industry context.
• Lead end-to-end technical execution of complex features from ideation to deployment.
• Define and enforce engineering principles, guidelines, and best practices.
• Partner with product, design, and stakeholders to align decisions with business goals.
• Lead incident resolution and on-call rotations to ensure reliability.
• Mentor engineers and promote continuous learning across the team.
• Occasional travel to company offices or events as needed.
