Job summary

Ookla, an Accenture company, is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to own the Android SDKs (CQoE and Speedtest) used by telecom partners and developers. You’ll design, implement, and maintain features across millions of devices.

You will work across Kotlin/Java, JNI/NDK, and a shared C++ engine, collaborating with cross‑functional teams while introducing AI‑driven tooling with strong guardrails for safety, privacy, and security.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience with data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Experience with Android using Kotlin and Java.
• Experience building and maintaining SDKs or libraries.
• Strong data literacy: SQL, Python, and data-quality monitoring.
• Curious attitude toward AI and modern engineering practices.
• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong time management and self-driven work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Android SDK features used by partners and internal apps.
• Bridge JNI/NDK to the shared C++ engine across Android, iOS, and embedded targets.
• Introduce AI-assisted tooling with safety, privacy, security, and verification guardrails.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and deliver end-to-end features and fixes.
• Roll out changes behind feature flags with quality checks and post-release verification.
