Job summary

Speechify, a leading text-to-speech platform, is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to own major features, shape the team’s direction, and maintain reliability metrics across core app components. You’ll collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to deliver high-quality, user-friendly experiences and provide nightly builds for QA.

The role requires 5+ years in software engineering, strong Kotlin expertise, and a passion for UI/UX.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Familiarity with Android components.
• Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
• Drive to push the boundaries of Android UI/UX.
• Rock solid experience with Kotlin, Coroutines, Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, JUnit tests.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own major features and deliver high quality features.
• Shape the future of the Android team.
• Own, maintain and improve reliability metrics for key features.
• Participate in discussions across Product, Design, Engineering teams.
• Review pull requests and support teammates.
• Handle critical issues or unexpected challenges.
• Take ownership of feature releases and provide nightly builds for QA.
