Job summary

Speechify is a leading text-to-speech platform with apps across iOS, Android, Mac, Chrome, and Web. We are seeking a Senior Android Engineer to lead major Android features, shape the team’s direction, and improve reliability while delivering high-quality user experiences.

Our distributed team values leadership, fast results, and strong collaboration. You’ll work in a fully remote setting with a fast-paced environment, contribute to exciting Android projects, and participate in an interview

Qualifications

• Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
• Familiarity with Android components.
• Product design intuition and user empathy.
• Drive to push the boundaries of Android UI/UX.
• Understanding of tests and how to approach writing tests.
• Self-drive to improve the app and codebase beyond the spec.
• Rock solid Kotlin/Kotlin Coroutines/Flow/Dagger 2/MVVM/architecture.
• Excellent communication skills.
• User oriented problem solving approach.

Responsibilities

• Owning major features and delivering high quality features.
• Shape the future of the Android team.
• Own, maintain and improve reliability metrics for key features.
• Participate in cross-team discussions (Product, Design, Engineering).
• Review pull requests and support teammates.
• Handle critical issues or unexpected challenges.
• Take ownership of feature releases and nightly builds for QA.
