Job summary

Compunnel, Inc. is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to architect, develop, and optimize large-scale native Android applications.

You will collaborate with product, design, and development teams to deliver robust mobile solutions while promoting best practices in architecture, testing, security, and performance. You will work with Kotlin, MVVM, and Jetpack Compose, implement Android Architecture Components, and contribute to code quality through reviews, unit tests, and UI tests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5-7 years of experience building and maintaining large-scale Android applications.
• Proficiency in Kotlin and Kotlin Coroutines.
• Hands-on experience with Android Architecture Components.
• Strong MVVM experience and Jetpack Compose.
• Experience with AI tooling across the SDLC.
• Strong OO design and development skills.
• Experience with unit testing and UI testing frameworks.
• Experience with Jenkins for branching/merging workflows.
• Knowledge of mobile performance, latency, and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot native Android applications in an Agile environment.
• Architect and implement complex features across the app stack.
• Develop scalable Android solutions using Kotlin and modern practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions.
• Contribute to engineering standards and continuous improvement.
• Diagnose and resolve performance, reliability, and security issues.
• Apply asynchronous programming and concurrency techniques.

• Apply Android Architecture Components, MVVM, and Jetpack Compose.
• Leverage AI-assisted tooling across the SDLC.
• Support enterprise-level branching and merging workflows.
• Use performance analysis tools to optimize apps.
