Warby Parker is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to own the development, architecture, testing strategy, and standards of the native Android app. You will drive best practices and contribute to a disciplined mobile tech stack while partnering with Product, Design, Backend, and SRE teams.

The role demands 5+ years in Android development, Kotlin expertise, and experience with Jetpack Compose and MVVM/MVI patterns. You will mentor peers and shape the mobile architecture across initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building native Android applications.
• Proficiency in Kotlin and modern Android development.
• Experience with UI using Jetpack Compose and Material3.
• Strong networking and data-layer experience (OkHttp, Moshi).
• Experience with domain modeling and scalable mobile architecture.
• Ability to collaborate with backend teams and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the evolution of Android platform for scalable, observable, performant mobile systems.
• Lead design and delivery of complex Android features with cross-functional teams.
• Drive architectural decisions and participate in design reviews for major initiatives.
• Apply modern Android best practices, including clean architecture and modularization.
• Own operational excellence: crash monitoring, performance tracking, logging, and remediation.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and technical guidance.
