Job summary

Motorola Solutions in Chicago is seeking a Senior Android Developer to own architecture and deliver high‑reliability mobile features. You will lead end‑to‑end development, champion modern UI with Jetpack Compose, and drive automated tests across unit, UI, and integration layers.

The role requires 5+ years’ experience with Kotlin/Java, MVVM/clean architecture, and strong collaboration with product and platform teams. On‑site work and leadership responsibilities are part of the role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building cross‑platform native apps (iOS/Android) and web apps.
• Strong Kotlin and Java proficiency with modern Android architectures.
• Proven expertise with Jetpack Compose and performance optimization.
• Experience in testing strategies across unit, UI, and integration tests.

Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end mobile feature design and development in high‑reliability environments.
• Architect and own complex mobile systems using modern Android tooling.
• Champion Jetpack Compose, UI standards, and responsive interfaces.
• Establish automated testing strategies to ensure stability and coverage.
• Provide technical leadership, code reviews, and mentorship to engineers.
• Drive delivery plans with product and platform teams and manage debt.
