Job summary

TEGNA Inc. owns WLTX-TV, a CBS affiliate in Columbia. We seek a creative anchor who excels at accountability reporting and breaking news, comfortable developing unique, engaging newscasts with producers, and engaging audiences across digital platforms.

The ideal candidate has journalism experience, strong writing and presentation abilities, and can build community contacts to surface compelling stories. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Journalism degree preferred.
• Minimum 5-7 years of news anchor/reporting experience.
• Excellent, creative presentation and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Use editorial judgment to determine content of the newscasts.
• Collaborate with producers to create unique, fast-paced newscasts.
• Write and post daily on all digital platforms including social media.
• Develop original, impactful content through social listening and sources.
