Motion Recruitment is hiring a Senior Analytics Engineer - Robotics Intelligence to help a robotics company turn operational and robotic system data into clear, actionable insights. In a high-volume fulfillment and logistics environment, you will support better product performance, stronger customer outcomes, and improved fleet optimization.
Working onsite in Somerville, MA, this role bridges data engineering, analytics, and business strategy by delivering trusted datasets, consistent KPI frameworks, and reporting that leadership, customers, and engineering teams can rely on.
What you’ll do
- Build analytics-ready datasets to support robotics performance measurement (hands‑on work).
- Develop KPI frameworks to measure productivity, utilization, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Create dashboards and reporting used by leadership, customers, and engineering teams.
- Partner with robotics engineers to understand system behavior and identify performance trends.
- Establish data definitions and standards to keep metrics consistent across the organization.
- Design and maintain transformation pipelines that power analytical workloads.
- Analyze operational data to surface opportunities for operational improvement.
- Support customer‑facing reporting and business intelligence initiatives.
- Improve data quality and trust across reporting environments.
- Translate complex technical findings into business insights that teams can act on.
What we’re looking for
- Strong SQL expertise.
- Professional experience with Python.
- Experience building analytics data models and reporting datasets.
- Knowledge of dimensional modeling and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with modern BI and visualization tools.
- Experience transforming raw operational data into business metrics.
- Strong understanding of ETL and data transformation workflows.
- Experience working with cloud data platforms.
- Familiarity with data governance and data quality practices.

Additional desired skills & experience

- Knowledge of dbt and modern analytics engineering practices.
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
