Job summary

Enpal, Germany's first green unicorn, is expanding its analytics team in Berlin. We are seeking an Analytics Engineer/BI/Data Engineer to transform complex data into governed metrics and self-service analytics through dbt, Snowflake, and Tableau.

You will own the semantic layer, define metrics, optimize data pipelines, and mentor the team while exploring AI-assisted development to accelerate insights across our hybrid cloud stack.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Analytics Engineering, BI or Data Engineering.
• Ability to turn complex data into actionable, governed metrics.
• Expert SQL and data modeling skills (star schemas, dimensions/facts).
• Hands-on production dbt projects with tests and docs.
• Strong Python skills for analytics tasks.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
• Familiarity with ELT concepts and CI/CD for analytics code.
• Self-starter in a fast-moving environment.
• Interest in AI-assisted development and semantic layer tooling.
• Experience with dbt MetricFlow or Snowflake semantic views is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Model clean, well-documented datasets in dbt (staging → marts).
• Lead the development and evolution of our semantic layer with metrics and data contracts.
• Structure dbt models and documentation to be machine-readable for AI-powered analytics tools.
• Diagnose messy data, reconcile inconsistencies and align stakeholders on a single source of truth.
• Optimize Snowflake query performance, data freshness and quality through testing and monitoring.
• Partner with BI and business teams to design certified datasets, dashboards, and self-service standards.
• Develop end-to-end reporting — from business needs to actionable data products.
• Maintain data pipelines, dbt models and Tableau integrations in a modern stack (Python, AWS/Azure/GCP, Git).
• Mentor the team on analytics engineering best practices and AI tooling.
