Job summary

WaveCrest Staffing Group is seeking a Senior Analytical Scientist to support small molecule development within an oncology-focused biopharmaceutical company. The role centers on analytical method development, instrumentation, data interpretation, and troubleshooting in a hands-on laboratory setting.

The contract is for six months with potential extension or permanent conversion; start ASAP. Expect GLP/cGMP compliance, ELN documentation, and cross-functional collaboration with Process Chemistry,

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in small molecule pharmaceutical or biotechnology development is required.
• Master's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field with 8+ years of relevant research experience.
• Ph.D. with 3+ years of industry experience; or Bachelor's with 10+ years of extensive industry experience.
• Extensive hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation (HPLC, GC, LC-MS, UV-Vis, FTIR, Karl Fischer, DSC, TGA, XRPD).
• Experience maintaining documentation using an electronic laboratory notebook (ELN).
• Strong scientific problem-solving and ability to present findings to teams.

Responsibilities

• Independently lead analytical development and product characterization for small molecule candidates.
• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot analytical methods for early- to late-stage development.
• Perform hands-on analytical testing using HPLC/UPLC, GC, LC-MS, UV-Vis, and other techniques.
• Operate and support qualification/validation of analytical instruments.
• Design experiments, analyze data, and report results with recommendations.
• Collaborate with Process Chemistry, Formulation Development, and CMC teams.
• Document work in ELNs and prepare technical reports and presentations.
• Follow GLP/cGMP and maintain strict safety and quality standards.
