Job summary

Actalent in Marion, IN seeks a Sr. Lab Technician to support analyses in a quality-driven production environment.

You will operate ICP-OES/ICP-MS and XRD instruments to quantify metals and mineral phases, develop methods, and oversee junior technicians to ensure data integrity. The role requires a bachelor’s or master’s in chemistry, metallurgy, or materials science and 1–2+ years of relevant instrument experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Chemistry, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related field.
• 1–2+ years of experience operating ICP-OES/ICP-MS, Atomic Absorption, and XRD, or UV-Vis.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain ICP-OES/ICP-MS for quantitative metal analysis.
• Operate XRD for identification and quantification of mineralogical phases.
• Develop, optimize, and validate analytical methods for new matrices or prototype materials.
• Provide technical oversight of junior technicians in sample and solution preparation.
