Position Summary

Based in Miami, FL, the Senior Analyst, Hotel Operations supports the Manager, Process and System Improvement in advancing special projects and continuous improvement initiatives across Hotel Operations. The role gathers and analyzes data to support project execution, maintains performance and KPI reporting for Hotel Directors, Hotel Operations Managers, and leadership review, and prepares materials for fleet calls and operational change communications.

Operating in a fast-paced cruise-industry environment, the Senior Analyst helps keep Standards & Quality Management (SQM) policies and departmental Home Port content current, produces recurring operational reports for distribution across Hotel Operations, and supports the deployment of fleet initiatives, including housekeeping and other operational programs. The role also oversees the budget and deployment of safety and injury-prevention initiatives, such as stateroom lighting projects. The position requires strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, both shoreside and shipboard.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the planning, tracking, and deployment of special projects and fleet initiatives impacting Hotel Operations, including housekeeping and other operational programs, from kickoff through rollout, coordinating across departments to drive implementation.
  • Oversee the budget and deployment of safety and injury-prevention initiatives, such as stateroom lighting projects, tracking vendor quotes, costs, and project timelines against dry-dock schedules in coordination with Global Safety and capital-planning partners.
  • Gather, organize, and analyze data from shoreside and shipboard sources, including project timelines and costs, to support decisions, recommendations, and status reporting across projects and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Build and maintain performance and KPI reports and dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Excel) for Hotel Directors, Hotel Operations Managers, and leadership review, presenting clearly to shoreside and shipboard audiences.
  • Produce and distribute recurring operational reports on a weekly basis (e.g., the HD Voyage Report and others) to relevant departments within Hotel Operations.
  • Monitor operational KPI trends, flag negative trends, and support problem-resolution and improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure Standards & Quality Management (SQM) policies and procedures are kept up to date; identify, track, and apply SQM and SOP updates.
  • Maintain the department’s Home Port content and SharePoint repositories that house SOPs, KPIs, and project documentation.
  • Prepare and format presentations and materials for fleet calls and operational change communications; maintain accurate meeting notes and action items.

  • Identifies potential areas of operational improvement and cost savings in collaboration with shoreside and shipboard teams, with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintains reporting that tracks operational and financial KPIs, supporting budget reviews and leadership financial discussions where required.
  • Supports cost and savings analysis for improvement and project initiatives, ensuring figures are accurate, reconciled, and clearly presented.
Qualifications & Education
  • Bachelor’s degree from a college or university in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Information Systems, Analytics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in analytics, reporting, project coordination, or process improvement, preferably within a hospitality, cruise, or large corporate environment.
  • Proficiency with reporting and data tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Power BI) and the broader MS Office suite.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional projects and producing executive-level reporting and presentations.
  • Familiarity with standards/SOP documentation (e.g., SQM) and SharePoint is desirable.
  • Experience in the cruise, maritime, or broader hospitality industry is a plus.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally on an occasional basis (approximately 10–15%), including shipboard visits.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong analytical and data-gathering skills, with the ability to translate data into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook; working knowledge of Power BI, SharePoint, and other reporting tools.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to produce detailed, high-quality reports and executive-ready materials.
  • Willingness to adopt new technologies, including generative AI tools, to improve productivity.
  • Highly detail-oriented and process-driven, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across a multicultural shoreside and shipboard environment and to communicate clearly with all levels of management.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and to work independently under general direction.
  • Ability to read and write English in order to understand, interpret, and document procedures, and to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms.
