Job summary

Solar Landscape, a leading commercial rooftop solar developer, seeks a Preconstruction - Senior Analyst (NJ). You will manage a portfolio of early-stage rooftop solar projects, coordinating AHJ policy research and local stakeholder relationships.

Reporting to the Senior Manager for Illinois on the Preconstruction Team, you will drive site feasibility, permits, data management in CRM, and collaborate with engineering, procurement, and clients to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental Management or related field.
• 2+ years of development, construction, and/or engineering experience in Solar.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Dynamics 365, MS Project, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Bluebeam.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of behind-the-meter and Utility interconnections.
• Understanding of Purchase Order, Subcontract, PPA, EPC Contracts and Project accounting.
• Organization and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, self-starter.
• Knowledge of construction safety requirements; OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
• Valid Driver’s License; travel to job sites.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of projects from handoff through submission of construction permits.
• Coordinate all non-ministerial permits including zoning and planning.
• Ensure preconstruction site visits are completed and feasibility information obtained.
• Maintain AHJ knowledge and track related documents in CRM.
• Assist Engineering in project design decisions and compliance.
• Provide status updates to senior management on schedule and cost forecasting.

About The Role

We are currently looking to fill the position of Preconstruction -Senior Analyst (NJ). This role will report to the Senior Manager for Illinois on the Preconstruction Team. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for managing a portfolio of early-stage development rooftop community solar projects. Job responsibilities include: researching AHJ policy and facilitating local relationships with stakeholders, project planning, site visit and feasibility assessment coordination, project controls/reporting, risk management, etc.

• Assumes ownership of a portfolio of projects from Business Development.
• Manages all Project Management aspects of the projects from handoff through submission of construction permits.
• Coordinates all non-ministerial permits to include zoning, planning, etc.
• Ensures all preconstruction site visits are completed, and information required for feasibility is obtained; coordinates across internal teams, external clients and subcontractors for critical site feasibility assessments.
• Manages site evaluation data in internal CRM, researching relevant data when necessary
• Maintains a knowledge base on AHJ requirements including relevant zoning parameters, ordinances and codes
• Understands project feasibility documents such as ALTA, Title, Leases, and tracks them for projects
• Assists Engineering team in decisions and development of the project design in compliance with Local, Company, and Customer requirements.
• Participates in weekly Client meetings, responds and/or relays preconstruction project tasks to the engineering team.
• Process submittals and RFIs as required.
• Facilitates subcontractor contracts and purchase orders
• Provides status reports to Senior Management on a regular basis, particularly regarding engineering, procurement, schedule, and cost forecasting.
• Build trust and rapport with all Solar Landscape departments.

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental Management or related field of study.
• 2+ years development, construction, and/or engineering experience in Solar.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, Dynamics 365 (or other construction management software), Microsoft Project, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Bluebeam or equivalent pdf editor.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective Negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of behind-the-meter and Utility interconnections.
• Understanding of Purchase Order, Subcontract, PPA, EPC Contracts and Project accounting.
• Organization and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, self-starter.
• Knowledge of construction safety requirements; OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
• Valid Driver’s License; must be willing to travel to various job sites.
• Ability to climb ladders and access building roofs.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
