Job summary

S&P Global Ratings is seeking a senior analyst in North America infrastructure to lead end-to-end credit analysis across power, midstream, refining and digital infrastructure sectors.   • Lead end-to-end execution for assigned credits, ensuring high-quality analysis and timely delivery with clear accountability.
  • Own surveillance/updates for assigned portfolio, synthesizing performance, market signals, and peer context into decision-useful insights and clear implications for risk.
  • Support LLM tools/automation embedded to accelerate workflows, with structured validation and refinement using analytical judgement.
  • Operate alongside AI agents in recurring workflows.
  • Prepare/review inputs, reconcile metrics, document assumptions/changes to ensure adherence to methodologies and SOPs.
  • Prepare/review key outputs ensuring clarity and alignment to methodology/sector frameworks and evidentiary standards.
  • Support maintenance/review of models to ensure robustness, repeatability and linkage to risk views.

Role Overview

S&P Global Ratings’ North America infrastructure practice is rapidly expanding, supported by a strong pipeline of new financings and refinancing. The role offers the opportunity to work on complex structures in fast-growing market segments such as power, midstream, refining, and digital infrastructure. Analysts will apply corporate credit and project finance skills to facilitate and support capital formation for this critical sector.

Team Contribution & Capability Building
  • Provide day‑to‑day guidance/coaching to Research Assistants and Rating Analysts, building capability in credit, data discipline, tooling, and reinforcing values‑led behaviors.
  • Drive consistency and scalability by codifying standard work and promoting disciplined adoption to strengthen trusted, repeatable insights.
  • Strengthen AI‑enabled productivity by creating reusable assets and proposing lightweight automations that free capacity for human analysis and relationship work.
  • Foster continuous improvement by proposing enhancements that remove manual steps without compromising governance or judgement.
  • Partner with senior team members and Data/Engineering to identify and scale AI/automation use cases with governance‑by‑design, controls, and adoption support.

  • Build trusted stakeholder relationships through emotionally intelligent, collaborative and adaptable delivery.
Risk Management
  • Ensure adherence to methodology, confidentiality and data governance; elevate issues early with options and recommendations.
  • Embed responsible, governed AI use: approved tools/data only; protect confidential info.
  • Drive controlled automation/agentic workflows by contributing to design requirements, supporting testing/rollout, and training others.
  • Define guardrails for automation, determining what can be automated versus must remain human‑led.
Qualifications
  • Develop credit views and manage a portfolio of credits, including preparing committee‑ready materials and participating in rating committees.
  • Demonstrate service excellence and professionalism in management meetings, due diligence calls, and surveillance discussions.
  • Contribute to sector expertise and support think‑leadership through commentaries, publications, and regional or global analytical work groups.
  • Model ownership/execution maturity across multiple credits, delivering high quality with limited oversight.
  • Exhibit strong collaboration and relationship management; influence through credibility and constructive challenge.
  • Coach team members to improve consistency through shared standards and tools.
  • Maintain a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Show AI fluency with sound judgement.
  • Perform strong credit/financial/risk analysis linking drivers to forward‑looking views and risk appetite.
  • Embed AI/LLMs/agents into workflows, enhancing productivity.
  • Utilize analytical tools and learn new data/automation tools as needed.
  • Synthesize concise narratives for senior stakeholders and communicate effectively.
  • Maintain high standards for quality, traceability, and governance, exercising sound judgement on responsible AI use.
Compensation
  • United States: base salary range $110,000–$153,000 USD, plus annual incentive plan.
  • Canada: base salary range 105,000–133,000 CAD, based on performance and experience.
Additional Information
  • Typically three to five years of relevant work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA) highly valued.
  • Required to work from the office minimum two days per week.
  • Final‑stage interview candidates required to attend at least one in‑person interview at nearest S&P Global Ratings office before an offer can be extended.
