Job summary

Connecticut Natural Gas Corporation, East Hartford, CT, seeks a Senior Analyst – Cost Control to provide financial analysis and cost management for gas construction projects. You will collaborate with project managers, engineering, and finance to monitor expenditures, forecast costs, and support strategic decisions.

Responsibilities include cost tracking, budgeting, and process improvements, plus interaction with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in cost analysis, financial planning, or project support.
• Professional certifications such as CMA, PMP, or equivalent are a plus.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process completed inspections. Address inspectors' questions and concerns.
• Manage restoration billing processes from beginning to end with urgency on timeliness and accuracy. Develop bid packages and prepare purchase requisitions.
• Solve complex assignments that may arise; reconcile contractor invoices efficiently and timely, ensuring accurate billing based on contracts.
• Empower to resolve contractors or customers complaints.
• Monitor and track project costs across gas construction design and delivery programs.
• Develop and maintain cost forecasts, variance analyses, and budget reports.
• Support the preparation of capital and operational budgets for gas infrastructure projects.
• Analyze cost trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and finance teams to ensure accurate cost reporting.
• Maintain documentation for audits, compliance, and regulatory reporting.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in cost control processes and tools.
• Plan, develop and create work schedules to initiate restoration activities on customer properties.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Cost Controllers to execute construction project schedules while ensuring cost control processes are met.

Job Summary

The Senior Analyst – Cost Control within the Gas Construction Design & Delivery team is responsible for providing financial and analytical support to ensure effective cost control and budget management across gas construction projects. This role collaborates with project managers, engineering teams, and finance departments to monitor expenditures, forecast costs, and support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
