Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Licensing Officer and working closely with the CEO, the Senior Analyst will deliver accurate, detailed, and timely business and financial analysis providing actionable insight to our CEO, CLO, Business Development, and Licensing teams. You will work directly with our Licensing Executives, Business Development team, and extended team of technologists, and will also support company-level corporate development work including business planning, investor materials, and market and competitive analysis. This is an ideal role for a highly capable, recent MBA graduate (or MBA with up to five years of experience) from a top program looking to apply the analytical rigor of investment banking or management consulting to the fast-growing intellectual property licensing industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and further improve the VideoLabs' business plan, investor presentations, and other strategic materials for the CEO and Chief Licensing Officer.
  • Conduct market and competitive analysis to inform corporate strategy and operational decisions.
  • Build and maintain financial plans, models, and valuation analyses supporting company-level strategic and investment decisions.
  • Prepare polished, executive-ready PowerPoint presentations and Excel-based analyses for the CEO and CLO.
  • Participate in investor, partner, and other external meetings alongside the CEO and CLO.
  • Leverage Claude and other advanced AI tools to accelerate research, analysis, and day-to-day productivity.
Licensing Program and Business Development
  • Conduct detailed business intelligence, product and financial analysis and valuation analysis on prospective licensees and markets supporting core licensing and business development programs and engagements.
  • Conduct due diligence on prospective patent acquisitions and licensing partnerships, including market sizing, royalty potential, and deal risk assessment.
  • Support the design, build, launch, and operation of worldwide licensing programs from concept through execution, including program strategy, pricing, and execution playbooks.
  • Develop and continually update licensing business plans, strategies, and the licensing pipeline, ensuring all programs are properly resourced and executed to plan.
  • Support the development and management of KPIs, forecasts, and operating rhythms across all licensing programs, taking corrective action to meet or exceed plan.
  • Build and maintain the consolidated revenue pipeline and forecast across all programs, rolling up projections program-by-program and company-wide, and recommending timely corrective action to deliver to plan.
  • Build and maintain financial models in Excel to project revenue scenarios, estimate damages, and evaluate deal economics under various licensing structures (e.g., lump-sum, running royalty, hybrid).
  • Analyze publicly available financial information (SEC filings, earnings reports, product revenue data) for potential licensees across the high-tech industry to inform licensing demand calculations and royalty estimates.
  • Research target industries and technology landscapes to identify licensing opportunities and assess the competitive positioning of patent portfolios.
  • Compile and synthesize data from patent databases, industry reports, public financial filings, and proprietary research tools to support Business Development and Licensing operations.
  • Create and maintain detailed company- and market-level analysis and financial models, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of all materials.
  • Assist in preparing licensing campaign materials, including licensing decks, financial summaries, technology overviews, and presentation packages.
  • Ensure all work product is transparent, reproducible, and well-supported with publicly available data, maintaining source and backup materials.
  • Prepare written analyses, research memos, and internal reports summarizing findings on target products and services, companies, technology markets, and patent portfolios.
  • Monitor industry news, M&A activity, product launches, and technology trends relevant to active licensing campaigns and portfolio strategy.
