Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2+ years of analytical sales, commercial analytics, category management, or related experience
  • Strong experience with syndicated data software (IRI or Nielsen)
  • Ability to analyze and present detailed business information to audiences with varying levels of experience
  • Experience with advanced Excel, data visualization, and exposure to R, Python, or SQL
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence
  • Strong project management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
  • Evidence of building relationships and collaborative, consultative approach

Responsibilities

  • Translate consumer, shopper, category, and retailer insights into actionable growth strategies and recommendations
  • Lead development of category analytics deliverables to support Sales, Category Leadership, and cross-functional partners
  • Analyze customer business performance using syndicated data, retailer data, POS data, and internal data
  • Develop and present category reviews, business reviews, and insight-based recommendations
  • Influence retailer category strategies through distribution, promotion, pricing, and shelf placement
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Insights, Intelligence, Category Strategy, and other teams to identify opportunities and translate insights into execution
  • Lead or support development of category leadership plans and roadmaps
  • Simplify analytics and BI processes to improve decision-making and team effectiveness
  • Participate in market visits, account calls, and business planning sessions

**Senior Analyst, Category Analytics****Location:** Working Remote USA**In this role you will:*** Translate consumer, shopper, category, and retailer insights into actionable growth strategies, category stories, and customer-specific recommendations.* Lead development of category analytics deliverables that support Sales, Category Leadership, and cross-functional business partners.* Identify customer, channel, and category opportunities that inform joint business planning, strategic account planning, and retailer-specific growth initiatives.* Analyze customer business performance using syndicated data, retailer data, customer proprietary data, shopper card data, POS data, and internal financial data.* Develop and present category reviews, business reviews, and insights-based recommendations that help grow total category sales and support brand growth.* Influence retailer category strategies through account-specific insights, business analysis, and clear recommendations related to distribution, promotion, pricing, and shelf placement.* Simplify analytics and business intelligence processes to improve decision-making, increase team effectiveness, and support scalable ways of working.* Partner with Sales, Marketing, Insights, Intelligence, Category Strategy, and other functional teams to identify business opportunities and translate insights into execution.* Lead or support development of customizable category leadership plans, national category growth stories, retailer-specific action plans, and category roadmaps.* Use multiple data sources and analytical tools to identify business risks, competitive threats, growth opportunities, and recommendations that support issue resolution and proactive improvement.* Prepare clear and concise analyses and presentations that communicate business trends, consumer trends, existing opportunities, and recommended solutions for growth.* Continuously build capability in syndicated data, account-specific data, internal financial data, advanced analytics, visualization, statistical analysis, and presentation skills.* Participate in market visits, retail audits, account calls, business planning sessions, shopper insight activities, and information and technology training as needed.* Actively invest in personal growth and professional development to prepare for future roles within the organization.**What we are looking for:**Minimum Requirements:* Bachelor’s degree* 2+ years of experience in analytical sales, commercial analytics, category management, or a related field* Strong experience with syndicated sales data software such as IRI or Nielsen* Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze, and present detailed business information to audiences with varying levels of experience* Technical capability across commercial analytics, including advanced Excel, data visualization, and exposure to statistical programming or querying languages such as R, Python, or SQL* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop clear recommendations and influence business partners* Strong project management, critical thinking, prioritization, and solution-oriented problem-solving skills* Demonstrated ability to build relationships, communicate effectively, influence others, and approach business questions with a consultative mindset* Collaborative working style with a focus on process improvement, team effectiveness, and continuous learningAdditional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role (not required):* Experience with retailer-specific data sources such as Retail Link, Madrid, 1010, 84.51, shopper card data, or POS data* Experience with shelving or planogram software such as Apollo or JDA* Prior CPG experience* Experience translating insights into customer-facing presentations, category reviews, or retailer-specific growth recommendations
