Job Overview and Responsibilities

The Senior Analyst - Alliances supports the optimization and growth of airline partnerships through performance analysis, strategic insights, and stakeholder collaboration. This role evaluates partnership performance, communicates key business trends, and contributes to the development of commercial strategies that drive mutual growth and profitability. The position works closely with Alliance leadership, commercial teams, and partner airlines to identify opportunities, support business planning, and advance United's global network objectives.

Core Accountabilities/Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and track partnership performance reports for Alliance and Commercial leadership, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure alignment on partnership objectives, initiatives, and deliverables.
  • Support senior leadership during external partner engagements by preparing analyses, reporting, and strategic insights.
  • Contribute to the development of business cases for partnership opportunities, including financial and operational impact assessments.
  • Identify areas for improvement within existing partnerships and recommend actionable solutions to enhance performance.
  • Analyze partnership metrics and business results to support decision-making and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across commercial, operational, and planning functions to advance alliance objectives.
  • Support special projects that strengthen alliance portfolio management and drive long-term partnership value.

NOTE: This position provides a hybrid work arrangement including approximately 50% of the time spent working onsite at our Chicago office location and 50% remotely.

Qualifications
What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in airline partnerships, commercial strategy, revenue analysis, business analysis, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance trends and business results.
  • Experience with SQL and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present insights to stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without visa sponsorship
  • Successful completion of the interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the capabilities and limitations of generative AI tools and effectively leverages them to support research, analysis, content creation, and problem solving. Applies critical thinking to validate AI-generated outputs while adhering to organizational policies for responsible AI use, data privacy and security.
  • Experience in the airline, travel, transportation, or hospitality industry.
  • Experience supporting commercial partnerships, alliance programs, or strategic business initiatives.
  • Exposure to financial modeling, business case development, or partnership performance analysis.
  • Experience working with executive-level stakeholders and external business partners.
  • Power BI experience

The base pay range for this role is $81,795.00 to $106,602.00.

The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
