Job Purpose

Finance and Enterprise Business Services, Snr. Analyst, Global Financial Reporting— New York (NY), participates in the preparation of US GAAP and Regulatory filings, including FERC and State reporting. Provides lead support in preparing financial statements and analytics for the NY jurisdiction. Partners within Accounting Operations and NY Controllership to collect and review financial information and ensure accurate reporting.

Reports to the Manager, NY Reporting - New York (NY) and is responsible for preparing financial reports and analysis to support NY financial accounting and reporting requirements.

What Youll Do

• Responsible for preparing and presenting financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and federal / state regulations, including the Uniform System of Accounts.
• Utilize U.S. GAAP, FERC, and PSC regulations on accounting pronouncements, ensuring accurate disclosures.
• Compile and review financial information to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Verify, reconcile, and update accounts, reviewing discrepancies to produce accurate data.
• Monitor and report variances in income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow, identifying anomalies.
• Analyze and explain variances and trends against expected and historical data.
• Partner with jurisdiction business teams to understand financial performance, develop expectations, and explain drivers.
• Collaborate with Regulation and Pricing teams to understand rate plan impacts.
• Maintain financial records for compliance with policies and procedures.
• Ensure timely financial filings and reports.
• Support financial and non-financial controls to meet business requirements.

What Youll Need

• Bachelors Degree and 3+ years in Financial Reporting or Accounting with increasing responsibility.
• Ability to meet deadlines and perform critical self-review of work.
• Knowledge of general ledger platforms and accounting systems.
• Preferably, knowledge of gas and electric utility accounting or related disciplines.
• Experience in utility service or similar industry accounting preferred.
• Strong prioritization, collaboration, and communication skills, including with auditors.

Salary : $102,000-$120,000
