Job summary

Symrise is seeking a seasoned Flavor Development professional to design and deliver commercially successful flavors for alcoholic beverages. You will collaborate with internal groups and key customers to create market-relevant solutions, while leading cross-functional teams on innovation initiatives.

The role requires a BS degree and at least 7 years of flavor development experience, with strong regulatory knowledge and expertise in essential oils and encapsulation technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree required.
• Minimum 7 years flavor development/formulation experience.
• Knowledge of US and international flavor regulations.
• Experience with essential oils, botanical extracts, and specialty aromatic ingredients.
• Ability to resolve technical problems and drive cost reduction.
• Experience with global customers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop commercially successful flavors for alcoholic beverage applications per approved technical projects.
• Partner with alcoholic beverage customers while supporting BU Beverage, Sales, and Marketing on flavor development projects.
• Demonstrate knowledge of specialty chemicals for flavor modulation, masking and enhancement.
• Coordinate flavor development with laboratory technicians and Flavorists to meet customer briefs.
• Take a leadership role in beverage projects within R&T and Global Innovation initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-regional Symrise teams to support global alcoholic beverage customers.
• Oversee first-time production of flavors for alcoholic beverages; troubleshoot ethanol system issues.
• Train and mentor laboratory staff on flavor development and evaluation.
